Originally I wanted to create a romantic short film that left the audience with something to take away. My ideas included using young people falling in/out love, but i think this was the wrong way to set about the task. I need to think, firstly about what I want the audience to get out of watching the film and secondly how I was going to show that. What I want the audience to feel is that love can last. I think for this message it would be better to use an older couple and have a plot based around their relationship.
I'm not sure yet whether to have dialogue or not. Some of the the films I have looked at do not have any dialogue and I think this can work really well although I am worried that with out a little bit of dialogue people will not get the concept of my film. I am going to work on a film with out dialogue and then use audience feedback to see if I need a voice over to tie the film together. Also because I am using an older couple I want what they say and their memories to sound realistic so I will ask some older people to read my script and give their feedback.
